Show Sacramento is ready
Be one of our first 1,000.
Would you come for coffee and cat company? Join our email list. It’s our first way to measure community interest and understand the demand before we commit to opening.
Joining is free. Get café progress, volunteer opportunities, and contribution news. An email signup is an expression of interest, with no payment or visit commitment.
We’ll bring cats into the café when the space, care plan, people, and funding are ready. Reaching our email goal is a community milestone; it doesn’t set an opening date.
Where contributions go
The heart of it, and the practical details.
Cat care continues long after opening day. Here’s what we’re preparing, what future contributions can help with, and the conditions we need to meet before we welcome you in.
A home for the whole idea
Here’s what we need to launch.
Good coffee, a quiet place to settle in, and cats with room to be themselves. Bringing those things together takes a suitable space, thoughtful preparation, and enough resources to keep caring for the cats after opening day.
These are the priorities future contributions would help us work toward. They describe what we’re preparing for; costs and practical details will develop as we secure a location and make arrangements for care.
A dedicated café space
A suitable Sacramento location with the required lease arrangements, approvals, and permits. We need a space where café operations and cat care can work safely together, with appropriate separation between food preparation and the cat areas.
A space designed around cats
Secure entrances and escape prevention, comfortable temperatures and ventilation, washable surfaces, and a layout that gives cats places to climb, hide, play, and rest away from visitors. We also need a separate area for new arrivals or cats who need time apart.
Reliable care from the start
Veterinary arrangements, health and intake procedures, daily feeding and cleaning routines, and a clear response when a cat is unwell. The care plan needs to be in place before cats move into the café.
The practical essentials
Food and water bowls, litter boxes, litter, bedding, carriers, scratching surfaces, toys, cleaning supplies, and safe storage. Café equipment, furnishings, utilities, and insurance are part of getting the doors open, too.
People and a financial cushion
Enough trained people to cover care every day, including days the café is closed, plus money set aside for unexpected veterinary needs, repairs, and slower periods. Opening should be the beginning of reliable care.
Care continues every day
A happy cat needs more than a soft seat.
Looking after cats is a daily responsibility and an ongoing expense. Food, fresh litter, laundry, sanitation, enrichment, and careful attention all need a dependable place in the budget. Veterinary visits and unexpected treatment add costs that cannot always be predicted.
We’re planning around that full picture. Support for the café can help prepare the environment and the resources behind it: a quiet retreat, a clean litter box, a safe carrier, and someone who notices when a cat needs extra care.
Contributions are voluntary, let you choose the amount, and are nonrefundable. They are separate from membership and provide no membership benefit. As the launch plan develops, we’ll share more about our priorities and progress through café updates.
Ready for the cats, first
We’ll open when we can do this well.
We won’t launch until we have a suitable dedicated location, the necessary operating approvals, a safe and prepared cat environment, a workable care plan, and enough people and funding to support ongoing operations.
The goal is a stable café environment where cats can settle into a routine. Our launch plan is built around preparing that space before bringing cats into the café, without relying on a series of temporary moves between residential homes.
Our first goal of 1,000 email supporters helps us understand community interest. It is one part of the journey; an opening date depends on meeting the practical, financial, and cat care conditions above. We’ll share an opening plan when those pieces are ready.
A little more time together
Our membership plan.
We're planning a $20/month membership for unlimited visits, with a one-time, refundable $20 opening deposit to be credited toward your first membership month. The deposit is for the planned membership; it does not start recurring billing. The deposit checkout opens on Stripe; no recurring billing is active.
The $20 deposit is refundable any time before the café opens. To request a refund before opening, contact acwasheck@gmail.com. If the café opens, the deposit is credited toward your first planned membership month.
Contributions are separate from the deposit, nonrefundable, and do not provide a membership benefit or pay an opening deposit.
There’s more than one way to help
Lend a little time. Bring a lot of heart.
We’re open to volunteer help as the café takes shape. Depending on the stage of the project, that could include preparing the space, organizing supplies, community outreach, or helping with daily routines once appropriate arrangements are in place.
Any role involving cats will need suitable training, clear responsibilities, and supervision. We’ll share specific opportunities, requirements, and how to express interest through our café updates as those roles become available.
We’re preparing to launch and haven’t announced an opening date or café location. A suitable space, operating approvals, a prepared cat environment, care arrangements, staffing, and funding all need to be in place before opening.
Can I contribute right now?
Yes. Use the Stripe-hosted checkout to choose an amount. Contributions are nonrefundable and do not include a membership benefit.
How do I request a deposit refund?
The one-time $20 membership deposit is refundable any time before the café opens. Email acwasheck@gmail.com to request it. If the café opens, the deposit is credited toward your first planned membership month.
How does signing up help?
Our first goal is 1,000 email supporters. Your signup helps us understand interest in a Sacramento cat café and keeps you connected to progress. It’s free and doesn’t reserve a visit, start a membership, or commit you to a payment.
Can I help by volunteering?
Yes, we welcome introductions from people who can offer time or skills as the café takes shape. Email acwasheck@gmail.com to tell us how you’d like to help. Specific roles will depend on the project stage, with training and supervision for work involving cats.
