When you join the email list
Our signup form asks for your email address and your permission to save it for future Cat Café updates. We store your email address, your consent, and the date and time of your original signup in a Cloudflare D1 database. Signup times are recorded in UTC.
We trim spaces and convert email addresses to lowercase before saving them. Each address counts once. Signing up again with the same address preserves the original signup record.
We use the list to understand community interest and prepare future café planning and opening updates. The signup system currently saves your interest; it does not send an email when you join. Joining the list does not create a membership, contribution, payment, or recurring charge.
The website shows a total of unique email signups. It does not publish email addresses or individual signup records. The signup application stores records with Cloudflare and does not send them to rescue organizations, advertising services, or data brokers.
Website hosting and security
Cloudflare hosts this website and processes requests to deliver its pages and protect the signup service from abuse. This involves technical information such as your IP address and request information.
Our application does not save your IP address in the waitlist database or log it in the application code. For rate limiting, the application turns the IP address supplied by Cloudflare into a one-way digest and sends that digest to Cloudflare’s short-lived rate-limit counter.
Cloudflare also processes information as our hosting provider under its own policies. You can read more in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
We use HTTPS and limit what the public signup API returns. No internet service can promise absolute security.
Browser storage and Do Not Track
The current site code does not save your email address or signup-window preferences in browser storage. The signup window opens when you choose a signup button.
The site does not include advertising pixels. Its fonts and photos are served from our own website.
Cloudflare adds a Web Analytics beacon to delivered pages to measure website visits and loading performance. Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not use cookies or local storage to collect usage metrics. See Cloudflare’s description of Web Analytics for more information.
Our site code does not track your browsing activity across other websites and does not change its behavior in response to a browser’s Do Not Track signal. Cloudflare processes technical request information for hosting and security as described above.
Contributions and payments
Contribution and deposit buttons open separate Stripe-hosted checkout pages. Stripe handles payment information entered on those pages; the café website and waitlist database do not collect or store card numbers, security codes, or bank account information. Joining the email list remains free and does not create a payment or recurring charge.
How long we keep signup information
We keep signup records while we use the list for café planning and future updates, until the café team removes a record or ends that use. We have not set a fixed automatic deletion schedule.
The website does not currently offer a self-service way to review, change, or delete a signup record.
If our signup process or use of personal information changes, we will update this page and its effective date.

To request a refund of the one-time $20 membership deposit, email us any time before the café opens. Contributions are nonrefundable. Privacy requests are reviewed by the team; this page does not automatically change your signup record.
